More than 300 members of the Mormon church who aren’t gay marched in the Utah Gay Pride Parade this weekend to send a message of love and inclusion to the LGBT community. Organizers say this is the first time such a large group has participated.
Mormon parade participants included a number of parents with their young children. Many participants said they were trying to heal the deep wounds that have existed historically between LGBT people and the Mormon church. Some heartwarming anecdotes as reported by the Washington Post:
Nevin Munson, 13, carried a sign that said: “Love thy neighbor as thyself.”
“I’m very saddened by the amount of hate in the world,” he said, adding discrimination against gays and lesbians exists around the world. “I don’t believe in that — they’re humans.”
Emily Vandyke, 50, carried a sign with the words from a Mormon children’s song: “I’ll walk with you, I’ll talk with you. That’s how I’ll show my love for you.”
Along the parade route, she embraced a weeping woman who said, “Thank you.”
“I haven’t recognized them as equals,” Vandyke told the Tribune. “They have been invisible to me.”What a courageous and inspiring thing to do. Not all religious communities are anti-gay, though not everybody realizes it; props to these individuals for standing up to prove it, and props to the assorted media outlets who have covered this to show the other side.
They know how it’s done! :D
-_- … :(
Poor thing ):
^^^How I feel when I’m at home.
Do you know how beautiful you look when you wake up in the morning? Do you know how much more it makes me love you when you smile at me just a little bit with those still blooming eyes? Do you know how much love i hold for you in that moment when all i can do is just pull you closer into my arms and kiss your lips and your forehead and pray to some unknown force to never take you from me? Do you know, love? Do you…

Perfection on the Left, and a lucky girl on the right. Everyone has that someone who they can’t live without, and everyone has that muse of perfection.
“It’s got to be that can’t-eat, can’t- sleep, reach-for-the-stars, over-the-fence, World Series kind of stuff, right?”
Girl: “I wonder how boys feel when they are in love. Do they get butterflies? Do they have you on their mind 24/7? Do they wait for you to come online for hours? Do they smile at random times at the thought of you? Do they miss you all the time? Do they think about the smallest things to say?”
Caught during a friend’s b-day party, me and my better half :)
They all know us this way, so loving and happy :)
